Stop 1 - Welcome to Prince William County Children’s Farm
Quacks, clucks, moos, oinks and more will greet visitors to Prince William County’s Children Educational Farm adjacent to the Animal Shelter. Learn the animals’ names and enjoy hands on experiences. On Saturday, visitors can also tour the Animal Shelter.
Stop 2 - Welcome to PWC Brentsville Historic Centre
Learn about skills necessary in everyday life on a Prince William County farm in the 1800s at the restored Haislip-Hall Farmhouse. Children-focused activities include candle dipping, butter making, carding wool, spinning and open hearth cooking. See demonstrations of log home construction.
Stop 3 - Welcome to Evergreen Acres
Visit Prince William County’s largest Christmas Tree farm and get pointers on shaping a Christmas tree. Take a two-county wagon ride to view the trees and pumpkin patch. Pumpkins, related produce and some veggies will be for sale. Farm machinery on display.
Stop 4 - Welcome to PWC Teaching Gardens
Join Master Gardener volunteers for a tour of themed gardens and the Benedictine Monastery’s labyrinth. Gardeners can learn low maintenance practices that save time and money and protect the environment. Local vendors and Master Gardeners will have their favorite plants for sale.
Stop 5 - Welcome to Yankey Farm
See the fields and cropping systems used to produce vegetables and fruits on this family farm. View antique tractor displays and beekeeping demonstrations. Visit the pick-your-own pumpkin patch and roadside stand to purchase in-season produce and honey. Restroom facilities.
Stop 6 - Welcome to Blue Top Farm
Stop by this horse boarding facility designed to conserve natural resources and provide a safe, healthy environment and managed to be chore efficient. Visitors will be able to see horses in the fields and observe grooming and riding demonstrations by their owners. Restroom facilities.
Stop 7 - Welcome to Oak Dale Baptist Church
Lunch will be available for purchase on the grounds of this 150-year-old country church a short drive from Yankey and Blue Top Farms. Beautiful mountain views, children’s activities and plenty of room for the kids to run and play.
Stop 8 - Welcome to Double O Good Alpaca Farm
Who can resist these gentle and cuddly critters? Meet alpacas of all colors and learn how they are cared for. Get a sneak preview of the beautiful alpaca fleece items that will be available at the farm’s annual Holiday Boutique.
Stop 9 - Welcome to Stoney Lonesome Farm
This Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm allows 70+ families to enjoy high quality, naturally grown food while directly supporting a local farming family. Learn about organic farming, sample seasonal vegetables and greet goats and work horses. Limited special needs parking. Restroom facilities.
Stop 10 - Welcome to Smith Family Farm
All-natural, grass-fed beef, pork, chicken, eggs and turkeys (in season.) are produced at this working “Century Farm.” Join the 5th generation for a guided tour and children’s activities. The farm store will be open. Early arrivals can purchase breakfast 9-11 a.m.
Stop 11 - Welcome to LynnVale Farm & Studio
See premier flowers grown for nearby florists and farmers markets. Guided garden tours: Saturday at 11 a.m. & 3 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Demonstration in artist’s studio at 1 p.m. both days. Seasonal bouquets can be purchased at the flower barn. Restroom facilities.
Stop 12 - Welcome to The Winery at La Grange
Visit the only established winery in Prince William County. Beautiful mountain views. Completely refurbished 3-1/2 story brick manor house c. 1790. Two vineyards grow Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Manseng. Entire property open to enjoy and explore. Wine tastings & purchases (over 21 only).
