Youngsters can touch and mingle with the pint-sized animals and hear neighs, bleets, oinks and more at the children's educational farm, which is adjacent to the county animal shelter.

Hand-raised sheep, goats, a miniature horse, two potbelly pigs, rabbits and a miniature Zebu will welcome Farm Tour visitors.

Strollers, bottles, pacifiers and sippy cups are not permitted on the farm, due to Health Department regulations.  For safety, please wear closed-toed shoes or boots.

If you miss the Farm Tour, the Children's Farm also welcomes visitors on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

Those in the market for a family pet are invited to stop by the adjacent animal shelter on Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. to visit with the many dogs, cats and rabbits in need of good homes. The shelter is hosting an open house with free food and activities on Sunday, Sept. 25.
