The children’s educational farm, which is adjacent to the county animal shelter, offers youngsters a chance to touch and learn about animals. Hand-raised animals on the farm include sheep, goats, and a potbelly pig, as well as assorted chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits and peacocks. Those who are in the market for a family pet will want to schedule this farm on their tour agendas. Visitors are welcome to stop by the adjacent animal shelter on Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and visit with the many dogs, cats and rabbits that are in need of good homes. Due to Health Department regulations, strollers, bottles, pacifiers and sippy cups are not permitted on the farm. For safety, guests are asked to wear closed-toed shoes or boots.
